One person dead after residential fire in Maple Ridge, police say

One person has died after a residential fire in Maple Ridge on Tuesday morning, police say.

Maple Ridge RCMP said local firefighters contacted police at about 6:30 a.m. about a burning home in the 21400 block of 123 Avenue, near Creston Street. Police said one deceased person was found inside the residence, but the person’s identity has not yet been confirmed.

The RCMP is investigating the fire. Police said there is currently no information to suggest it was suspicious, though all potential causes are being considered at this early stage of the investigation. No further information will be released at this time.
